It's a fan thing. Someone took Mega Man 7 and redid the whole thing with NES graphics and sound.

It's the very final hours of the Shovel Knight Kickstarter, and every stretch goal has been reached with a total of over $300,000 pledged! This is your last chance to be a backer, so make your decision soon.

The stream is wrapping up but the Yacht Club team is still playing games, so stop on by if you get the chance. You can easily ask the developers any questions you may have, they're a really laid-back bunch (despite being sleep deprived from streaming for 22 hours straight).

It's over!

Is Shovel Knight customizable?
Unlockable shovels/armors would make me play this for years

You'll be able to upgrade your shovel and I believe buy new moves as well with the loot you find. Everything is still very much in development so there might be more, but that's what I remember from the stream.

The unfortunate bit about Shovel Knight is that we have to play the waiting game until around Christmas, with no beta or early access.

September :o

September :o

They said holiday 2013 during the stream. The PAX demo says "winter 2013" when you beat it, too. I assume the Kickstarter "estimated delivery" was wishful thinking.

:'(

I'm still crossing my fingers

Shovel Knight just got Greenlit! Hooray!

Two things:

1. Woz (one of the artists) is streaming some pixel art/animation right now with some upbeat music on twitch, and he does so fairly often. YCG also does random streams where they play games too, so you can follow them to get notifications when they start. He's been working on one of Propeller Knight's minions the last few streams.

2. Shovel Knight is, in fact, scheduled for release this September.

are you kidding me, why do they even need money for this crap, stretch goals are so dumb

Why would they want to put more work into something nobody wants?

it's like "show us you want it and we'll make it better"

"show us how much you want to be able to be a female instead of a male, pay us thousands of dollars"
what bs
