No, Alpha's free. $3 supports the developers and I believe gets you the full release. Personally, I might buy it then donate like $7, because the game is already worth quite a bit.

I tested a spaced armor design that actually absorbed a lot of damage from a 10-block long d1000

The design had a one block think plate 8 blocks away from another one block thick plate that is supposed to be the hull. The missile detonated on the first plate. The missile blew a hole in the first plate but only managed to damage some blocks on the hull, but none were destroyed.

I would suggest this as a cheap and effective defense against heatseekers.

I just put eight of them on. It boosted something like 34k regen to 41k regen.

Each of the one I posted can put out 9.5k or something like that.

Its actually 410k or so.
Also the entire ship frame in made of generators. There are also numerous stuff generator banks here and there.

Also,
18k shields, I don't know how good that is anymore though.
