Author Topic: CISPA. What the forget congress.  (Read 2654 times)

So as you all may or may not know, CISPA passed.

Now for those of you who don't know what CISPA does, lemme explain real quick.
CISPA is like a recon drone, they monitor chat, if someone has anything like a cyber threat, they track your IP and hunt you down. One problem with it, they're completely forgetting people with proxies and stuff that they can't track.

Congress says "This protects privacy, it protects civil liberty," he said in support of the bill. "This is the answer to empower cyber information sharing." Well I think that's a load of bullstuff.

According to Blocko 3D,  they're not just looking at public stuff, they're looking at private info, too.

Badspot if you're reading this, take the forums down for 24 hours for the entire day of April 22. Anonymous tweeted this: "Call ur favorite websites to #blackout for 24 hours. Let's show the unity and power of the Internet they're trying 2 exploit! #CISPABlackout"
Apparently a bunch of websites are doing this in a protest against CISPA, so we should too.

Anyways, CISPA is a bunch of bs, and it should have never passed, or existed.

Noo, what will I do without my forums. ):

oh man already people are mad about a bill that wont effect them in the slightest.

One does not simply monitor the internet.

It would be dumb of Badspot to do a blackout. It won't effect enough people. It makes more sense for websites like Wikipedia or Facebook to black out.

oh man already people are mad about a bill that want effect them in the slightest.

If they can see the chat logs I have with Blocko 3D, you'd want no one to see them.

trust me

We need to take down larger sites than just blockland. We need to spread the word. We as a community need to unite

Its not being enforced yet is it? I mean it hasn't gone to the president yet. So I think we're good, its not time to worry yet. We can start worrying if Obama passes it.

great april 22nd is my birthday :(
what a FUN day that will be

The thing is nobody will ever see it.
And you're not doing illegal things so that doesn't effect you either.

i don't care about them looking at my private information, really.
it's the government guys.
unless you keep files stored on your files confessing you have weed or drugs or files of you shipping children off the net, there's no need to worry, plus they're not the people who just throw information around to guys in alleys or anything like that.

I don't see why people are getting so flustered over this, what does the bill ban websites that have naughty words on them?
i take most of that back

I highly doubt that they would actually track you down for making a threat, unless you shove their real-life name and address in their face and say you're going to threaten them.

Someone wouldn't have said that if they wanted to be taken seriously.

All we can do is sit and keep our fingers crossed that Obama vetoes it.
