thats not what i asked

I can answer that question if Portalmaster tells me what CPU he has.

why is that important? its your server he cant host on and you've already seemed to figure out what cpu you need

If Portalmaster has a high-end CPU, it's his fault.
If Portalmaster has a mid-range or lower CPU, it is my fault.

By the way, my tests with Winter bite on my home comp. are complete. On the Athlon II x4 635 machine, the CPU usage was ~38% higher than it was on my VPS (which is what I expected).
On the AMD FX-6300 4.4 GHz machine, the CPU usage was ~30% lower than it was on my VPS (which is also expected).
This means that the Athlon can host 7 players before lagging, and the FX can host 13 players before lagging. The VPS can host 10.

All of this means that Portal's server is extremely hard to host on both AMD and Intel CPU's.

but you literally just said that its the cpu thats the problem?
Yes, it is their fault for making their server so demanding. And the fact that BL is single-threaded makes it impossible for anything other than a core i5, core i7, or Xeon E3 to host.
I am sorry but RTB had a CPU with excellent single-core performance. All of my CPU cores are based off of an Intel Xeon E5-2620 v2 (2.1 GHz), so it doesn't have a single-threaded performance as good as RTB.
what im getting here is that you just dont want to spend the money to upgrade and theoretically hold more clients (or allow current clients to use limits they should be allowed to use in the first place)

This is because it would cost $125 a month to get this kind of CPU, and I don't know how many users will buy HammerHost. It could be none.
So I'm starting out with a small VPS, and I will upgrade as more clients join.

The only hope of getting this $125 server is if I can be guaranteed that at least 18 clients will pay monthly.

It's both the RP's and the CPU's problem. The RP is at fault because it uses a high amount of bricks, and the CPU is at fault because it is not good enough.

Why are you guys still going at this?

If your Serves can't hold that much you have a major hosting problem.

CBMhost does worse at holding this many bricks than HammerHost does (according to both my test and CPUbenchmark.net).
So it's definitely not "major". CBMhost ran like this for more than 1 year.

Isn't that the whole point of a hosting service? To host what people can't? AKA builds like this?

I'm afraid that hosting services which are not as large as RTB cannot host things like this.

If you can't host us
why are you still here?

Because I am trying to convince you all that not being able to host this is not something wrong with my hosting service.

uh

Hosting services are supposed to provide a server that runs smooth with the given game, you want your machine to be super buffed so you can run stuff but have room to keep it going a a steady pace, Blockland will most of the time require this for big servers.

That is a point I've tried to get across to him for awhile now. Never listens.

Then maybe the add-ons or scripts are not so efficient.

That makes even less sense.
I was also running most of the same add-ons and scripts.

No, there's not a thing wrong with your service, there's something wrong with you.
