I deactivated their keys because they were using a script to impersonate me in chat, including adding my name to the player list when I wasn't there.  Not including this information in the log post is dishonest.

Cciamlazy denies that he was involved, but I don't believe him because a little over a year ago he was writing back door scripts and bragging about it like a little stuff: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=187690.0

Then like a week later JazZ does the same thing and people tell me cciamlazy was involved, which I am inclined to believe.  Cciamlazy admits to being friends with JazZ.

Forum user "swagbot" racked up multiple forum bans and was sharing a key with cciamlazy.
Forum user "DraftDinosaur" aka "k2dionysus" bragged about crashing servers and shared a key with cciamlazy.

Oh and cciamlazy filed a chargeback with his credit card company, claiming an unauthorized purchase, even though he had actually been banned for distributing malicious code.  Bet he didn't tell the bank that.

So excuse me if I don't believe anything this guy says.

You'll find that impersonating an administrator will get you banned from most online services.  On top of that now that securecommandtoclient has hit the skids, I have to rewrite it.  The problem is it can't be 100% secured because it's just a computer program, although the current version can be decoded just by looking at the string tables in the exe and I can certainly make it harder than that.

I am positive this isn't the first instance when "you" joining a server or saying something in chat has been impersonated. Why this specific case? Was this done on other servers than their own somehow?

Why this specific case?
Because having Badspot on your server is cool
That's probably all reason you need

Badspot; why not hire more administrators such as Bisjac to help sift through the issues you have with the users?

I'm sure they would gladly do it for free; seeing as they already are very active on the forums and would appear to have the same mentality level as you and Ephialtes.

They took control of a command that Badspot made require a password in order to control, it was the only command that would add the specified name, point count and BL_ID to the player list.

They were also free to use the join sound and leave sounds created through other secure commands to simulate as close as possible to actual activity.

Any starfish can set up a fake chat conversation through events but cannot utilize the player list and/or the sounds unless the server ran a specific add-on making those sounds available to events.

Alright Eric, that is the final authentication key you will take from me.

I spit my triscuit out laughing at this part.  I can't believe this is real.

I think you're in the wrong topic

Thank you for clearing things up Badspot. I never saw Cc at Marble's server, but I'm sure he had a part in it knowing the shot he pulled with Dionysus a while ago. RIP MARBLE MAN.
