Author Topic: Save wrench events ON by defualt!  (Read 1865 times)

Okay so I will admit I am a bit POed right now because for the THIRD time the save wrench events was off from a previous save and I forgot to turn it back on and ALL of my events and teleporters on a LARGE build were COMPLETELY cleared and I had to re-do ALL OF IT! Pleas make it so save wrench events on by default. We can fix it that way we can not undo saving without events!

Edit 1: I should mention I probably will not be checking this thread often, I am a bit busy usually.

Edit 2: At the very least there should be a window that comes up that says "are you sure you want to save with events turned off?"

But, saving always covers events though...

When saving there is a boolean option to save wrench events. If I remember correctly, the option is on by default.

Just don't turn it off (why would you ever do it) and then it is alwayso n by default.

Yes but when you turn it off it stays off until you turn it back on (even 20 saves later)

Sometimes there is an awesome build you want to keep that has crappy/laggy events all over or in places you can not find, but you still want to keep the build.

then turn it back on?

then turn it back on?

the issue is when you forget to just ONE time now everything is gone and you can not get it back. If you forget to turn saving wrench events off you can just do it next time, you can not do the reverse.

You might want to check out the "Save Saver" mod. It makes a backup of every save you make.

this is entirely your own fault

Does not mean we should punish players for making a mistake. Mistakes happen, we do not need to screw up all our builds because we accidently screwed up one time.

I will look that up.

Never had this problem because I can tell the difference between events being saved or not.

Note: If you have saving events/ownership turned off, that box with the numbers doesn't show up. If it doesn't show up, you didn't save events/ownership.

There's nothing wrong with the system, if you don't want it off, don't turn it off. Simple as that.

you are punishing yourself here by continuing to be stupid
there is no "we all" here; you seem to be the only person here having a serious issue with this (hint: it is because you are dumb)

I have never seen any box with numbers on it anywhere. I do not know what you are referring too.

The issue is that they stay off forever (even if you turn off your comp and come back later) until you turn them back on. If you fail to check the boxes again you have now lost all your events

I am sure others have had this problem and just did not take it up here. Most game makers are smart enough that this kind of thing should not be and issue. The pronoun I use here is not that important it is the point I make. The fact that over this post based on the few responses I have you decided to call a straight A student dumb (which are using the term wrong, dumb means inability to  speak, not stupid) indicates a most likely serious case of cranial rectosis. Do not be a douche to people you do not even really know. Learn to use your words, not your insults. (hit: I never said we and all right next to each other, you are implying I said all of the players have this problem, when I did not. I am including the lump sum of us who do. This is because you did not read what I really said very well.)

Calm down, everyone makes mistakes.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean we are going to make this happen, I'm sorry.
