Consoles not having to download disc games was a major point in their favor. You could get a game, take it home, pop it in and start playing right away. From the looks of things this monolithic turd is just a PC for people who don't want a PC.

This is going to be a serious plus to the PC world.
Both the PS4 and Xbox are going to be using one of AMD's 8 core processors, the Xbox using one built by microsoft.
This could get games into an era where they will actually use all 8 cores, increasing the usefulness of quad through eight core PC processors.

Definitely.
Most developers were already beginning to see PC as the better platform, and now with both new consoles revealed, its obvious that it will be for a long while.
