just people who signed up, I wanted you to be in it but you haven't been online for a while
Yeah I've been gone for pretty much a year so it makes sense, I was just wondering lolol

I'd like to see Bushido fight.

Now is the perfect time to make a comeback
Let Xang fight in a rocket launcher round

I lost to kalph in 4 3 life practice rounds with the RL.  This meant I would lose, by statistic, in a real match with him and the RL, and if I had won, I would only win on a fluke.  A part of me thinks the only way to really go on with this is to forfeit seeing as I was fairly beaten 4 times already, but at the same time I'm sure everyone here has fought against everyone else and has lost significantly or otherwise.

The second set of rounds are suppose to be chosen by the two players who are facing each other, so I'm not going to forfeit -- however, I will not go beyond that round even if I win.  I believe Kalphiter's shown enough that he deserves to go beyond me, but I know we both know what we'd like to do for a second round, if we both win our first, and get paired up together.

The deeper issue is that an early win/loss can thwart the actual skill ranking just because you're fighting someone disproportionally worse/better than you. Not only that, but one fight with one particular set of circumstances does not correctly measure overall performance and ranking. The problem is that it is near impossible to organize a competition correctly. People tend to forget this about competitions.

I know myself that, when given the right circumstances, you would make it to the later (2nd and beyond) rounds.

I still don't feel like I could, in good conscience, go beyond the second round.

You could definitely get somewhere if you fought in an environment like LegoPepper's server.

Honestly, this isn't as much "ultimate blockland warrior" as it is "single elimination default deathmatch"
Where are the vehicles? The crazy weapons? The hundreds of existing and original gametypes that could be used in a semi-competitive setting?

Vehicles can be on certain maps yes lol

Crazy weapons? Wait till round 2 lol

hundreds of existing gametypes? dude this is about survival, not capturing an enemies flag to win
based off the map the challenge can be different each time, you don't need different game modes, you need different maps with a set of adaptation

Don't get too defensive, it's all just constructive criticism

The fact that there will be crazier weapons/vehicles in later stages doesn't do much for me. Half the people who compete won't be able to use them because they'll be eliminated. I think the spirit of being the ultimate blockland warrior is that you're good at a whole variety of things. If it's just straight up deathmatching the whole time, that completely blots out all of the other insanely creative and cool things that people have done on blockland. I'm talking about pong, racing, deathruns, stealth-games, dogfighting, dodgeball, boulder rush, tron trail games, and that's just a few. I'm just disappointed that you didn't have higher aspirations for ubw, is all

i just think that being a warrior is being a survivalist

don't get me wrong, if this was a "whoever is the best BL player" contest then obviously I would have a much bigger variety of gametypes and challenges
but this is "whoever is the best BL WARRIOR", which imo, means that whoever can adapt and survive best, regardless of the circumstances
and I think that this contest is pretty good at showing who can adapt and survive

I figured it's related, so what's the best way to become better at fighting on Blockland so that you can actually do well in these sort of competitions and get more kills in death matches / team death matches?

probably play 1v1's with friends

play with weapons that you wouldn't normally use and try to adapt to situations
