Author Topic: What browser should I get?  (Read 1676 times)

I've been using chrome, but I can't stand typing something into the browser bar and just getting advertisments rather than strictly the pages I've visited. I've also heard a lot about how it tracks you, which I really don't like.

Nightly was okay, until I realized I can't change the default search engine. (even if I go into the advanced configs, it has no effect, idk why)

Internet explorer is apparently slow. (just taking others word for it)

So, what do I use?

IE sucks, Firefox is alright just takes a moment to get used to. Also I recommend getting adblock for it if you get Firefox

try chromium but I think it tracks history too

Of course I have adblock now, I've used firefox before, it's not bad.
Once I get a few suggestions I'll start a poll with them.

Maxthon master race.

You shouldn't make a poll. You should make a decision yourself because you are the one using it, not us. We are just giving you suggestions.

Yes, but if I get a lot of suggestions I want to narrow it down to like, two or three browsers.
All I really want is something that doesn't track you, has decent speed, let's you set whatever as your search engine, doesn't use too much memory, has a decent looking interface, decent control, support adblock.

Firefox is probably going to be your best option.

Looooooove this browser. I won't use anything else. I've been using it for 2-3 years I believe.

Chrome with Adblock, Session Buddy, and MaskMe;
Opera with Adblock and Ghostly;
or Firefox with Adblock.
