This is about the time we should take a second look at Julian Assange, Bradley Manning, and Arron Swartz. All of these people have two things in common, questioning their government and WikiLeaks. Surprisingly enough all these people have been on warrant for arrest. Julian hid in an Ecuadorian Embassy, Bradley is still in trial, and Arron Swartz six feet under because he couldn't handle the intense hell a federal trial had put him through. This is what happens when you reveal information that the government doesn't like. Have you heard Manning's current charges? The most surprising one is "Assisting the Enemy", which is odd because we aren't at war. Even more odd is that this charge is a capital sentence. Did I mention that this entire hearing is behind closed doors at Fort Meade, MD, because of the high risk of even more info getting out? Not only that, Manning has been in pre-trial solitary confinement for some time too, just to make sure he was mentally unstable for his trial.
Think about all this the next time you hear how much your government loves you.
