Also, about that "mindset". I draw furries, ok? I think drawing furries is fun. But do you know what I get from friends and some of my family members? Jokes about research. Now, my parents don't know much about these types of things, but my brother and his buddies know. Not only that, but a good chunk probably get the same kinds of reactions as i do when i just show off my art, because a ridiculous few drew research. I know I'm ranting about furries right now, but this stuff is gonna spread like a wildfire if we can't put out the flames. I am not saying that fan art is a bad thing. I do enjoy well drawn and beutifully painted art of my favorite shows or characters and each artists interpretations of them. But if you're going to draw research of them, you best be ready to receive a lot of backlash and a lot of threats (take kidalex, for example). If things like this becomes popular and crosses into the mainstream, people are gonna go on a witchhunt for these artists.

yes, iirc they started caring a lil too much and everyone thought it was ridiculous and they stopped caring soon after
i also think it had something to do with using their own models in sfm or something like that not just research in general
