There's a semi-competitive Smash Brothers tourney in my school's version of field day that I'm hoping to participate in. It's a 3-Stock 3-Minute free-for-all with no restrictions on characters, but specific stages. Should there be room for me (there are two spaces for each team, and idk if any upperclassmen in my team play so i have a small chance of playing), I need some advice. I main as Lucas, and I know he's not the greatest of characters, but there are some really good Lucas players out there and all the other characters feel really wonky for me so. How can I train now that Wi-Fi's gone? Are level 9 CPUs too little of a challenge (I usually equal a level 9 Meta Knight in skill)? I only know of one competitive player at my school, and he mains as Meta Knight, and idk if he's doing this too so I don't even know who I'm up against.

Don't say Lucas has faults, because he doesn't. Coming from an experienced player all I can tell you is this:
Gimp! forgetER GIMP!
If you can play smarter you WILL win, no exceptions (Unless its tornado spamming metaknight then its G)
Learn how to wavedash and wavedance, also learn Lucas's Nairs Dairs Fairs and special smashes.
If your up against lvl 9s that won't do you good, they're computers not players so don't get used to them.
Learn how to DACKUS, lucas can Up-smash and slide across the floor with momentum from either a w-dash or short hop.

That's the kind of stuff that gets you into apex. Also if anyone's going ice climbers call it quits because if he wobbles your dead.

although they are using his newer "canon" design i do like the older one
but it does appear that he has a lot of things that chrom has such as more skin
and i guess its just me but i do like ike more
i dropped chrom in awakening since his stats are fairly lower than others, rather, i use lucina more often than chrom
all in all anyone with a headband that has a scarf like quality is cool
like the snakester
and the cronoster
