people play brawl competitively because they enjoy competitive play? good heavens what has the world come to

Welp, everyone is different. I'm not a total tier cigarette though. I enjoy items sometimes.
Sometimes...

I'm not a total tier cigarette though. I enjoy items sometimes.
Well, as long as you're not a total tier cigarette.

Speaking of items I'm hoping for more sandbox-like typed items. Probably my two favorite of those kinds were the moving boxes and the soccer ball.

I like the items, it makes the game more chaotic

Oh man, here comes the "no fun factor"
I knew this would show up eventually.
Feed more please.
you seem to have it backwards

Jeeze, just because I used the tier list doesn't mean I'm a so called "tier-cigarette". Tiers only really matter if you're playing competitively, yes, but I think they're a good reference if you want to determine how good a character is in comparison to others. One of the main factors of tiering is matchups from actual tournaments, so you get to compare a variety of different players against each other. Even if you don't agree with tiers themselves or don't play competitively, I still think they're useful and relatively agreeable. I used those tier lists to show that Jigglypuff used to be a good character in Melee, but she was nerfed in Brawl. If her tournament use worsened, doesn't that imply that she was nerfed?

plus i don't see how playing competitively takes away the fun but hey that's what you guys think

Tiers never matter, they're meaningless.

Rest was nerfed. She also became much more frail.
I'd say the only change in Jigglypuff that wasn't a nerf in Brawl was probably it's Rollout attack.
bitch i know my jigglypuff don't even start with me

oh i misread your post

forget i created a stuff storm

Tiers never matter, they're meaningless.

Only to you.

Tiers definitely matter, there are some characters that are significantly better than others.
That's not to say that someone playing with a low tier character can't beat someone with a high tier character.
But why do you think 90% of people that win melee tournaments use fox/falco/marth...?
It's because they are loving better.
There's nothing else to it.

Thank you for wording that so eloquently!

As someone who mains a lower-tiered character (Lucas) yet still cares about tiers, I cannot agree with you more. Every character has ups and downs, but sometimes they add up better for other characters. Tiers simply provide an organized list of which characters have the most advantages overall, and it's still an opinion rather than a fact, so it's not like you have to agree.

I still think anti-tier people should be a little open-minded though.

Only to you.
If you care about tiers, congrats, you're a loser who is allowing outside sources to influence how you play the game.

doesn't the fact i play as low tiered characters completely contradict the fact that i care about tiers

i mean if i really cared i don't think i'd play as my favorite nintendo character, i'd probably play as the ice climbers

I think there's a difference between caring and just agreeing with tiers. If I didn't know anything about tiers, I don't think I'd play Smash any differently. Knowing a little bit about a list that ranks characters from best to worst doesn't mean my playstyle revolves around it.

Talk about edgy.

"Opinion one"
Nope
"opinion two"
nope.
Quit being such a downer Taboo, your personal opinions are not facts.
