I think a lot of you are way over estimating the proposed reward here.
I think Filipe deserves a reward, but not a big golden "I'm better than you sign" for him to hang on his neck like a lot of you might think setro is thinking of. I think Filipe, and everybody else who has contributed to the game in a notable way has earned an informal "thank you" from the community or a freaking gold star sticker or something.

"Reward" is not a synonym for "stroke the richard of" and I bet you would be more open-minded to the idea if anyone but setro had come up with it.

Jirue. He's faces and Decals are amazing and some of his stuff were the first things that were made default in BL. I mean tell me, how many times exactly has any of you ever used Filipe's "european sports cars" and their variations? Once maybe when you tested how they work, but how many times have you used Jirue's decals & faces? All the time because they belong to your avatar.

and by-and-large JVS was useful. integrated with events, neat sounds, neat animations, filled a niche where we needed it most, and it had a kickass modeler behind it to boot
