Author Topic: I'm thinking of switching to Linux  (Read 4271 times)

The problem is that it's not worth porting over because too few people use it.
ok :(

I usually prefer Linux as a server OS anyways.

but you can blame linux for being too hard to work with for the game developers if they tried to port it over and couldn't.
You've obviously never programmed for Linux before in your life.  Be quiet before you embarrass yourself.

The problem isn't that it's hard to port over, the problem is the 1.5% market share Linux currently has.

I don't think that's the issue here.

Would you rather your game be compatible with the larger audience of a whopping 91.37%, or just the 1.26%?

Can I ask what "Other" is?

i think windows 2000, windows 95/98 and the other old ones.

Go figure out yourself.
AKA he's too dumb to figure out how to operate linux

Some linux distros are great for low spec computers. Valve is also starting to port its games to them as well, if your computer is getting so slow that you can barely use it, I recommend it.

I tried running tf2 on my computer with Ubuntu when I had it and my god it was horrible

Was it the distro or the computer itself? Also, when did you run it? There have probably been optimization updates since then.
