Author Topic: Fixing computers for summer job  (Read 2641 times)

Sups guys. So it's summer and I want a lot of stuff but I'm too lazy to get a job. What do? Sucker people into paying $30 for a virus scan, that's what do. How did I do on my website. Any tips for improvement? Should I post in Craigslist?

Maybe it would help if you didn't put every other word in bold. It gives this feeling you want to show everyone how good you are with bb codes.

The rest looks great though.

What do Microsoft Office certifications have to do with PC repair?

I was aiming to make buzzwords so they would be more interested.

Just putting computer stuff so they think I actually know what I'm doing. I actually am certified in all those things.

If I was looking for someone to repair my PC, I wouldn't give a damn about if the person is a certified Powerpoint specialist or not. In fact, I would probably not choose said person simply because he clearly has no training/specialization in computer fixing, and just lists irrelevant qualifications that don't have anything to do with the services he's providing.

Edit: Your prices are way too high, noone is going to pay $20 for a simple virus scan.
Also, the "About Me" tab should be arranged as simple bullet points, imo. That makes it look more professional and easier to read. And slap a picture of yourself in there!!

$40 for system restore is kinda crazy

Thanks, I'll add a picture after I get a haircut. I think people would pay a little extra to have their computer fixed in home than leave it at Best Buy. As for my certifications, I'm going to leave them in, but remove them from the front and leave the ones in "about me"

It is kind of difficult, you have to spam different F keys :P. In all seriousness, it is challenging.

It's really not that hard, I've done it on many different computers.

It's more time consuming than anything. I had to wait 4 hours for my stuffty 5200RPM laptop drive to redo itself.

Jeez you're quick. I just posted that 3 seconds ago. That's a temp photo of my mom and I until I get my haircut.
