Author Topic: Competition: Win a FREE RTB dedicated server  (Read 21245 times)

Hi!

http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=219318.0

I'd show more, but I can't get a server running (coincidentally ...) but I can still upload pictures.

support

Derroith's idea is too cliche, and it isn't too original. Too many players would complain about its slow-paced gameplay, and they would complain about "freekilling" and all that. Unless you are up to change that,
Half-support for Derroith.

Anyhow. How about a click challenge that supports multiple players? Like an adventure map with "QTE"s so to speak? I've been thinking of making one and I don't yet have the ideas, but it won't be RPG-like. Imagine the campaign of most games.

someone should make an adventure map that explicitly discourages death

players can join in in the middle of the game, spawning near the last checkpoint reached, but if you die (or leave while something dangerous is present, or you've been injured) you get banned from the server for like, 10 minutes, and have to wait to rejoin

but the actual map is composed of little challenges, monster skirmishes, puzzles, and the occasional platform puzzle. players can carry one item each, but certain items are integral to progress on the map and thus they must be managed appropriately

so sort of like Four Swords Adventures, but with like 10 swords total.

Your server will be very empty, and noone will come back

-snip-
It would probably be best if when they died they just went to another place where there were puzzles or something fun to do. And then if they completed a certain amount of puzzles they would respawn, or in 10 minutes they would, whichever came first.

Me and momentum were going to do this and we are, we are going to host a map that is an abandoned metro station, its dark and the supplies are low, all you have is a knife and a silenced pistol, you have one life, that's it. In order to stay alive you need to A. Maintain order with your group. Or B. Kill everyone and use your supplies for yourself. The Map takes place at night and here is a screenshot. The metro is blocked with rocks and you've been stuck in there for weeks on end. Everyone in the metro is low on supplies.
I was going to host this on my spare computer but it would be too much of a hassle to set up and my power bill would go off the charts. Momentum's handling the build and I'm handling everything else. Tell me what you think!
It's also going to be my first server that I will release

The idea of not dying is very emphasized, so what Bushido said is basically in my server- without a ten minute ban ...

The support is great guys! I never knew so many people actually supported DayB!!

I can host it for you if you want for real cheap since I'm setting up servers lol

Fab's blimp tdm
The Resurrection Patch

Will fix the blimp's hitpoints and will can be only used in some areas to prevent crashes, with a brand new map.
