You may hust have to use another distro or wait for a Mint update.
Ubuntu supports UEFI the last time I checked, and I'm 105% sure there's a cinnamon PPA somewhere. Try that and install Cinnamon.
Mint is also Ubuntu based so

EDIT: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI ?
is there a way to remove it? I mean remove the UEFI thing
also Koopascooper Dual booted Windows 7 with fedora and I have the same motherboard as him
so idk

I don't have a computer with UEFI support so I have no idea
again

google

I really wish you guys with issues would use the topic as a last resort. None of us are pros at Linux and I'm still learning stuff myself.

I found you can disable it from doing it but I have no idea how, I tried google searching by the motherboard and it wont give me any results aaa

When I open a file in linux, it works fine, yet when I open as administrator, it says it's not marked as executable.
Please help, I marked the file as executable before, and it is still marked as executable.
The error says the file is in file:///home/myname/Desktop/[file here]
OS: Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon Maya

can I get help already
Secure Boot is likely enabled, and Mint's version of GRUB is out-of-date. Disable Secure Boot to load GRUB.

i'll post a screenie of my desktop later

how the flying forget would I do that
also the only modifications I tried was this

how the flying forget would I do that
grub-install --root-directory=(directory where the USB drive is mounted) /dev/sd*
the partition has to be marked as active or bootable though

grub-install --root-directory=(directory where the USB drive is mounted) /dev/sd*
alright
let me try that what I did was it automaticly installed because I opened space on my hard drive for mint to get installed, I guess it didn't do something properly
