BUT IM FAT AND DONT WANT TO
THEN ADD ME BACK ON STEAM AND I WILL HELP

so does anyone here recommend/like vim at all?

i'm thinking about using it with screen but screen is like, really hard to use
and i don't want to have multiple consoles up editing code with vim, it's too much sorry

so yeah i'm kind of being dragged away from the possibility of using vim for every-day use
halp
Sublime Text is a million and a half times better. It already does what you need it to do (and more), and doesn't require learning a bunch of bullstuff keyboard shortcuts.

when I install elementary it freezes on the map on the graphical installer
help what do

Porteus seemed really fast but it said 'bash: sudo not recognized' when I tried to install the wireless drivers, and it wouldn't even boot half the time

Have you already tried su -c 'commandhere'

I gave up on trying to get Porteus to work, it wouldn't even install.

So I just inquired a decent laptop.

Back when I was running linux on my desktop, I loved the Elementary OS window manager, but was constantly annoyed by it starting a debug program then that crashing. In a form of
HEY YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WANT TO REPORT IT?
>sure
WELL TOO BAD I'M GOING TO HAVE A PROBLEM AND CRASH TOO

even saying cancel would cause a crash and it was just a nuisance :(

is luna better now?

or should I go with #!, never tried it but i've heard it's great, and I've used arch before.

tl;dr what distro for a new lappy, #! or eleOS

#! is the most beautiful openbox distro i've ever seen
it comes with a bunch of themes installed by default
it even comes with it's own loving google start page, dammit

elementary is like the new thing now it seems though
and yeah luna is muuuch better

I installed it last night and it was awful. I might just stick with Mint Debian edition

well people have their opinions

openbox can be really hard to set it up how you want it to be, but once you do, it's awesome
#! does that, and in a minimalist-way imo

I don't see how judging a distro by how it looks makes it good, it can look nice and run like total ass. As my experiances with crunchbang are like that. The distro looks decent, but runs slower then it looks.

Yeah. Elementary, so far, has been a lot faster for me than #!.
