The entire park had become the center of pandemonium. UPSG were running from cover to cover taking shots at the ground team, still somehow unable to located the snipers atop the apartments. The commander saw the two Fireflies running toward his team and lifted his radio again, "Lee, get down here and secure the HVTs, pronto!" he shouted into the radio, and ushered the prisoners toward the apartments.
As the team was in cover on the south side of the park, the commander looked at the humvees to the west. "Team, make your way as best you can to the humvees and secure the area. Once secure, look for keys and rip off the license plates. We're hijacking them." he shouted to his team, and peeked over his cover, a stone barrier surrounding the park from outside dangers such as drunk drivers. He saw a civilian tackle a soldier just before he'd been shot, and cursed to himself. "Keep civilian casualties to a minimum!" he reminded everyone. He then peeked over cover again, and saw a man taking shots at the fleeing Fireflies. He immediately centered his red dot sight on the man's chest, and squeezed the trigger, dropping him immediately. Another man showed his head getting up to assist the man who had just been shot. The commander quickly dispatched him as well, striking him in the back of the head, just above the neck.
