Author Topic: I can't wait to move out. (Rant warning)  (Read 12670 times)

WE are starfishs? My hypocrite detector just went off the charts.
The only reason that we are like this towards you is because you tend to come off as a total starfish without a good reason.

Anytime I post one of you decides to either attack or annoy me with irrelevant stuff, you guys constantly call me an starfish when in reality I am fairly nice, and you all act as though I'm a worthless piece of stuff.

No wonder I consider you guys starfishs, I never said I don't act as one myself

Try posting something that doesn't result in a argument?
Also, fairly nice? Sure doesn't seem like it, your nice sure doesn't seem too nice.

I never said we weren't either, we just aren't 24/7 starfishs to the forums.

You know that I help people too right?  Whether it's in the computer megathread, computer threads, coding help, whenever I help, I do.  I still mod for the community as well.

Just because I disagree doesn't mean I'm trying to be an starfish

We help as well, you still call us starfishs.

Never said that disagreeing makes you an starfish, you are coming off as an starfish when disagreeing in quite a few cases.

Oh sorry I didn't know sarcasm was being condescending
"showing or implying a usually patronizing descent from dignity or superiority"
hey, turns out sarcasm can be used condescendingly
who would've known??!?!?!??!?!

yola's right, for once bashing on him is entirely irrelevant, quit bein stupid

Its one thing if its completely irrelevant, however people typically are relevant when arguing his point.

I really was going to leave this thread until I saw this.

That right there is both an insult to your own generation, and a load of bullstuff.  Almost every friend I have, every kid I know, had to earn their car.  Mommy and daddy didn't go buy them a new Bently, they worked all summer to afford a toyota Camry.  Finishing school?  Really? God I bet like 75% of students don't do that!  That's so hard and irregular!

forgets sake you've got the most twisted sense of reality and priorities I've ever seen, you're literally the reason the elder generation dislikes us.

Actually, where I live, it's highly uncommon for students to have jobs. I live in a rich town, so I'm basing my opinions here on my own area and other areas like mine. Of course people in the same financial situation have to work hard like I do if they want anything worth while. And yes, it's an insult to my generation because there's not many people anymore who know the meaning of hard work. You've got to be kidding. Are you trying to imply that the generations before us were less responsible? The more and more generations that come through, the worse and worse they get.

And also, the student drop-out rate in America is not a very pleasing number, if you want to be an starfish about it.

You see, before I got a job, I sat on my ass and whined about stuff that didn't even matter. I didn't bother with school, I didn't care. I was like a lot of kids, but the thing here is that at least I try. I got my ass up, got a job, found better goals and grew some loving balls. Why don't you try doing the same and stop acting like loving Popeye on a forum?

Here's some common points you should stop trying to make:

- I'm "ungrateful" <- Many times in this thread, I have expressed that I do appreciate my parents and the things they do for me and that this is only a minor issue. I'm ranting about the issue. Not my parents as a whole.

- My parents "own" me <- Legally, not morally. Stop trying to make this point.

- I want to move out because of my parents trying to limit the internet <- Holy forget, since when did I say in the OP "I want to move out of my house because my parents turn off the internet at night!" The topic of the thread was a bad way of expressing my current mood and now I loving regret making that title because of how many of you misinterpreted it.

- You don't have rights as a minor!!!!1!1 <- If I really wanted to, I could call the CPS and be freed of my parents; I do have some rights. But there is no abuse going on so why would I need to do that? I love my parents. I just don't love their decisions sometimes.

And that's all I can think of at the moment. lol

I'll address each of these points as nicely as possible.

-I never said you were ungrateful as a whole (if I did, I apologize), you're ungrateful in the sense of you don't realize that it is your parents internet, not yours

-Your parents do own you, legally and morally, this is something you need to come to terms with. They are your authority in a different sense than police, they own you.

-Considering you provided nooo other explanations about why you want to move out, of course people think that.

-You have minimal rights as a minor, CPS will only remove you if you have valid reasons, and usually they'll just laugh in your face.  Trust me, I've tried before.

If you choose to disagree with any of those, that's fine, let's simply agree to disagree and leave it at that.

- If I purchased my own internet, they'll still try to control it. They controlled my brothers internet even though he was buying his own and he's over 18.

- Morally, no. Morally, they're responsible in raising me. They can't tell me to shoot a helpless animal on the street, rob a store, or command me to hurt myself or something that's incredibly unreasonable.

- Do I need to provide a pointless rant about my parents and family life in a thread about them turning the internet off at night (which has been resolved now and it isn't going to happen, forgot to mention that)?

- Why have you tried before? You made it sound like you were being the burden on your own family because of the dossier; not trying to be pushy. And considering how serious the CPS takes even the slightest thing, I could probably pull it off. But once again, I wouldn't do that because there's no reason to.

Yes, I disagree with all you have said. We're going to have to face the facts that you and I have different views and we live in two different environments. Therefore, we cannot really disagree or agree with each other on anything because our experiences are different.

inb4 he turns 18

Only another year and five months. lol
