Author Topic: Why do people hate camping? (Defensively and Effectively)  (Read 3990 times)

well sometimes snipers sit in the same spot for days and days until they get the perfect shot
so idk whats wrong

That is real life. Real life is not a game.

When I hear camping I think of sitting somewhere and waiting to get a kill. The way I play in defensive like games is I usually find an area and constantly switch spots to cover certain areas. In MW3 I would play domination and find a high ground place near the A or C flag and switch spots to cover whatever area enemies are coming from. I call it "Patrolling."

I don't camp and I hate it in all games except battlefield, if a forgeter is camping out you blow his stuff up and he's dead, and the game shows you exactly where he is when he kills you. Otherwise it's annoying as hell.

I guess the problem with camping really originates in games where you're supposed to be out accomplishing some objective, not sitting in one place waiting to place cheap shots.  What you were playing, though, strikes me as the kind of game where defense is actually pretty important, so in that case the admins were just being richardholes.

The people who complain about camping are the ones who suck at flanking. When I use to play Call of Duty I would charge sniper camps and flush them out with grenades and then kill the rest with my m60 machine gun. Only to get killed by some guy with a submachine gun.
Thats like saying 12 people camping the stairs on Operation Metro is fair lol

Like everyone said a thousand times, there's a difference between camping and defending.

Lets say I'm playing a TDM and someone is hiding in a corner with a weapon that is silenced or an easy-kill weapon. That's camping.

Defending a point by staying in a place with plenty of cover and trap convinience is called doing your loving job.

The reason why CTF and Defend the point games are so unfun is because the actual objective goes right over people's heads. In CoD you'll usually see your whole team running to get a flag, which is why all the attackers get killed and we get our flag returned. People care more about time-limited kills than actually contributing to the team.

loving camping starfishs

Video game camping doesn't give you trench foot

I camp in TF2, sometimes...

Camping on MW3 especially on infected is quite a bitch at times especially when tons of people are in that same spot for the entire game or until they are killed. Also if your defending an objective then your basically protecting it. And one more thing that enrages people is people who camp with any full auto primary guns or shotguns. So yeah camping sucks on CoD and MW series.

i used to go prone in a bush and play dead in infected

there's a difference between sitting in a corner with an smg waiting for an enemy to come by and sitting in your base or by your flag with a sniper trying to defend it

Yeah i have done that before too works excellent on village under the small wood bridge. Becaus most of the time they run past it without really paying attention.

You are more likely to be spotted while staying in a single location when you shoot someone, therefore increasing your chances of being killed.

I don't play battlefield 3 so I wouldn't know what its like.

Yeah, one is an active method of defense and the other is going to get you killed because you are right where they expect you to be.

And if you get killed by the same guy hiding in the same corner twice then you need to work on your skills. If he is moving around from corner to corner then he isn't camping.
