Main reason why it's better;
Fraps loves to record raw footage and encode it on the go, which is why you need a pretty good system to be able to record good, and a good HDD. But Fraps always makes the files huge! Well Mirillis Action! records the raw footage, it will be a huge size, like 10 minutes can be up to 20GB, then when it encodes the video after recording with it's built-in encoding system, it can be like 300MB(Depending on what quality level you choose, and if to keep audio or not, it can get lower without audio and standard or low quality.) It will ask you to encode it in either Standard, High, or Low quality, with Audio or not and then it will go frame by frame to encode it. (**When encoding crap with ANYTHING, let your computer do it's thing, don't go browsing the internet, playing games because it causes spikes**)
So it's cheaper, has smaller file sizes, is good for weaker PC's, has a built-in encoding system that isn't on the fly like Fraps which is why Fraps demands a good computer. You can obviously also take screenshots, adjust framerate limiter, record games only, or screen, or a cropper area.
I don't know why this isn't as popular, it's so much better.
