Damsel in Distress games are just an extension of "Princess locked in a tower" Fairy Tales
thats the entire point lol
these "damsel in distress" characters perpetuate a stereotype that has existed for a long time that women are weak and need to be helped.

I can't wait for feminism vs fact 3.
Oh god i love those
Also it's funny how she wears makeup and stuff when she's a feminist

i hate saving anyone of any gender. i want more fps games where i am just selfish and in it for the material reward lol.
screw the chance of hooking up with the girl or saving friends. i want treasures and i dont want to be encouraged to use violence for the better good like all games sell us on. i wanna be indifferent to innocent characters who are being victimized. why do i have to pick sides anyway, that is what the weak female role was created for.
I want a character who is some mercenary who doesn't care about good or bad and just about the money so he is all like, "Here's the stupid girl, now where's my damn money so can get out of this rat hole."

max payne 3

oh boy, blockland and femi- actually, gender or just plain females for that matter do not go well.

I don't give a forget about gender. I care about character. I'll judge someone by the way the act and treat others, not by appearance.

That reminds me. Why is Samus a freelance bounty hunter if her only jobs are from the federation?

You see feminists argue that female characters who wear make-up are loveualized.

The vid brings up a point that can be argued.

Who in the world would not go after the princess, regardless of whether she can defend herself or not.

It's even proved in many movies and shows that no matter how strong the prisoner is in any given situation, he or she can't do it alone.

You see feminists argue that female characters who wear make-up are loveualized.
Radical feminists argue that, and they don't mean blush they mean blue eye shadow and red lipstick and stuff that make women look like strippers.

It's funny how people instantly assume all feminists are radical matriarchal feminists. Same thing with all republicans are gun toting nut jobs and all democrats are tree hugging gay men. We know these are not true and yet we perpetuate these stereotypes so we can easily dismiss their points as soon as they conflict our own.

Once thing I agree is that the damsel thing often could be said that yes, it's impossible to escape from the clutches if your captor, but it has to do more with the fact that these characters are nothing but faceless items for you to collect. Especially now, with the level of story we an accomplish in a game, it's not necessary.
