But the first one was better and it's expansion made it better.
it was the same thing (you SHOT stuff) but in a different time period, maybe you just dont like modern war shooters.

"the first cod was better" or "i only like cod 2". those games were good for their time but honestly they are no where near to as good as the current cods.
until i've played something with a better stalingrad singleplayer campaign nothing beats CoD2

idk i thought the waw campaign was pretty cool minus the asian levels

so much this

Apparently by better graphics engine they meant "Turn up bloom, lens flare, and random debris so people can't see how bad the graphics actually are"
The dogs do look nice though, I have to give them credit.
real time subsurfing
that means actual circles, not octagons and the like
makes a big difference in the long run
assuming the trailer can be considered really accurate too, it looks like shadow detail and draw distance limits are way up too

the character customization and the whole squad weapon class stuff really remind me of spec ops: the line multi

also double rendering scopes have been around for a while
same with steady 60 fps gaming
and decent draw distances/shadows
and leaning
and map destruction
and sliding

just because call of duty is late to the party doesn't mean all of this retro stuff is now "next-gen" and "innovative"

my two cents are: if cod wants to become the new benchmark for gaming, by all means, go right ahead. they definitely have all the materials laid out. what they have to do first is actually do something new that nobody else has done before and not leech off of other games and call it new

never played waw, maybe i'll look into it now

just be prepared for this

I liked United offense. You could carry a machine gun and deploy it and provide covering fire, drive tank and jeeps to and blow up stuff.

have you ever considered that people find call of duty fun?
Oh it's fun.

But, I don't like buying the same game every year just so i can play with my friends.

My BIGGEST fear is that Activision will run this series to the ground, like with Guitar Hero.

I mean, whether you like COD or not, you have to admit, Activision is milking the ever-loving stuffe out of the series, and I'm pretty sure they know it too. Activision has shown itself that they can't do licensed games for stuffe anymore since Spiderman 2(Than again, it's hard to do so). What I REALLY want is for Activision to let the Monolith team be free of making COD maps for the rest of their lives and make I don't know......\

A new Blood game? Or at least a Blood HD like someone tried to do so a while ago? Than again, it might be owned by someone else.

Also, I miss Space Quest. And for some reason, Activision won't sell the property off to someone else.

In fact, I don't get the reasoning behind sitting on old IPs and doing nothing about them, yet when someone makes a fangame or something, they get butthurt about it with C&D. Sell the IP off for crying out loud!
