I really don't see the point of paying over a hundred bucks for a keyboard when it doesn't have any special functionality beside looking good (appearance). It just isn't worth it.
It's because the 'fancy' keyboards are actually backwards mechanical (but obviously 'enhanced) old keyboards.
Old keyboards (IBM Model M and not only) used a mechanical switch which was considered very useful but obsolete, expensive and could break even more quickly.
It has been mostly discounted then the rubber dome keyboards (which are the cheap keyboards you are talking about) because they don't break as much and can handle spills.
However, the mechanical models arrived, still being expensive due to each switch having a mechanism, instead of a rubber dome, is still considered more efficient, but it fixes the problems with the old keyboards (dull keys, short lifespan etc.) with multiple models. Clicky, for gaming, etc., models which can't be sustained by a simple rubber-dome, which for the most part is mid-ranged. If you are to look at all the Mechanical mechanisms the best contrast would be Red-Blue. You can't have any contrast or any variation on a rubber dome. The only difference you can have on a rubber dome is the shape of the key. Rubber dome keyboards are also mass-produced and oftenly varied as "useful" compared to the "useless" mechanical keyboards, which don't have that much of a market share. But that doesn't mean that they aren't good. Many people who changed to mechanical didn't want to go back.

It's not just for goddamn appearance. That's the point.

It came with the iMac.

Love this keyboard, I have one but haven't used it in awhile. They're great.

I used to have a k120 but now I have this lovey beast.

Logitech g710+, great mechanical keyboard. The picture lies though because the macro keys on the top don't actually light up.

I have a keyboard from an old gaming computer, so I just use it now with my new build as well

-snip-
I have a similar version of that.  I got it for cheap on Cyber Monday.

I use the display for a temp display and telling me if I'm recording or not because Fraps has an application for it.

Until recently I'd been using a keyboard from the ~90's or so for years. That's just a stuffty excuse to for not being able to properly use a keyboard.

I hate it because it feels weird to type. I'm forced to use it though since I don't have any other keyboards which aren't in use by my brother or parents.

1-up'd

they're both very good keyboards though.
I have that same keyboard, I love it. Got it for like $30, was a steal. Keys felt kind of weird and mushy but I got used to it.

I have a laptop keyboard ;-;
can't afford a new gaming computer

At least get a USB mouse and keyboard, that's what I have until my parts arrive next week.

I already have a usb mouse, but getting a new keyboard would fit awkwardly on top of my current one.
I don't usually play at a desk. I lie in my bed and have my laptop sit on my legs

the keyboard in my laptop is dysfunctional for some weird reason and the touchpad doesn't even work at all

i have to use completely external attachments

dual keyboard + mouse #swag
