If you don't like fighting games, you won't like this game. Despite the general idea being simplification of fighting games, it's actually made even more complicated because of how you have to carefully manipulate a total of three or four actions strategically.
This is indeed the truth. You don't have to know the inside jokes of fighting games to enjoy this game. The depth here is something amazing, and althought it has this whole "fighting game parody" thing going on, while including tons of fighting game in jokes, It is not a joke game. You're not paying $10 for a joke game. You're paying $10 for a fully fledged fighting game, which (personally) I believe is up there with the likes of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.
Just because it's different to those games doesn't mean it's any less of a game. This game does take itself seriously, dispite having many inside jokes and little references to those who play fighting games.
If you don't like fighting games, don't bother picking this game up. If you don't understand the whole concept of the game, don't post negative, snarky comments in the thread for it. It's very very simple, you guys.
