One less tryhard "MMO".
The game came out ages ago and wasn't very tryhard at all. For the group the game was targeting, it got the job done pretty well and was a Huge success.

If it was a huge success, we wouldn't be having a discussion about it closing down now, would we?

EDIT: Of course, I suppose we should put more emphasis on the past tense aspect of "was" a huge success.

A huge success, regarding it's ability to suck in its target audience.

But I guess that died out.

Like what heed said, the game died with its playerbase.

There were tons of toons on years ago, before there was "Free to play" toons (Not to be confused with the free subscription ones they gave everyone now)

Edit: oh hey you edited, and now we can agree. :D

It's been running for years. Everything has to stop and die off eventually. Closing down doesn't mean it wasn't a success at all numbskull. It was good for its time. So have you made any points here or was that just a lame attempt at finding something witty to say.

Glad you re-edited before sounding like a pillar of stupid.

Well thank God I wasn't posting in Drama.

Hopefully someone will decide to make a similar game in the future.

Or maybe bring back an actually decent MMO like City of Heroes back.

What are you guys crying about? My childhood, if it were today, would be playing MW3 with no mic. It's much better that way and nobody has to hear the annoying children's voices.

Wait, what are you getting at?

I thought that toontown was pretty good for its time; it was launched in 2002/2003

It really was a good MMO though, compared to other mainstream ones. Toontown had originality and it was quaint. It was one of a kind, and it was special.

Toontown was good for its time.

CoH was timeless.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooo! Me and my sister loved Toontown, played off-and-on since I was like 10. Ugh this sucks...

And whats with all the hate on little kids games? If you dont like them, maybe its because theyre for little kids?

I also agree with Pixel, this game is designed for a younger demographic, so it isn't suppose to appeal to most of us.
Toontown used to be the best and I'm really gonna miss it. I used to play it for hours at my friends house. :)
