The sad fact about Syria is the fact there is nothing we can do. If we support the rebel forces, which factually is made up of about 45% former or current Al Qaeda members, we would technically be arming the enemy. And if we don't do anything, then the other 55% will hate us anyway! So what do we do? Nothing is probably what we should do, but what about the innocents? Well 45 out of every 100 innocents we kill would probably be helping us anyway. I say we just send in the Tomahawk missles, blow up the chemical weapons caches, and get our ass out. Quick and clean, without civilian casualties.

It's despicable seeing how the Senate approved of us striking Syria. It's not like Obama wasn't going to still attack them without the Senate's approval since he still had the authority to do what he felt was most necessary. Obama waited for their approval because it really does make him look much better as a president. I don't think that there is any question in my mind that Syria will retaliate against us. I think we are in for a tough ride. Obama you promised these types of things wouldn't happen. We were all on your side because we thought you'd be different than Bush. All politicians are the same, all deceiving and manipulative.

So I saw something intelligent in my newsfeed on FB today: "If, God forbid, America plunged into a Civil War II, would we want some other country off our shores with warships bombing us? HELL NO. If we want to slaughter each other, it is nobody's business but our own. I feel much sympathy for innocents killed in Syria, but I do not want my husband or sons to give their lives to clean up that mess. US involvement will only make it worse. Our elected officials have lost their minds."

Thought it offered an interesting perspective that isn't some armchair warrior's opinion.

i'm actually disappointed in our president. not angry, but disappointed.
at least there will be no boots on the ground, and this will be done in 90 days because of the set limit. but still, we shouldn't be in another conflict.

the good of it all is that the slaughtering of innocent civilians will come to an end finally.

My parents were huge supporters of Obama, and even donated a lot to the campaign in 2008. I say this now: "No-Bama!". I wish there was at least one clean politician.

This.

Haha, anyone that voted for Obama is just stupid (2nd Term not first). Why he got reelected is beyond me. He obviously didn't fix stuff in first term, what made people think he would do it in his second? Now we have some stuffy healthcare plan, and a President that doesn't know when it's a bad idea to attack a nation thats backed by loving Russia.

Obama: The idiot that started a World War because of some dump country that used Chemical weapons.

would you have rather had Romney.

would you have rather had Romney.
Damn right. At least we wouldn't have this stuffy Healthcare plan Obama's doing, and maybe Romney would have some sense when it came to this Syrian conflict. Obama is not concerned about Syria, he's defending his "Legacy" as a President.

Obama is going down as one of the worst Presidents along with Bush.

Obama cleaned up a lot of the mess Bush made. Obama brought back many jobs, fixed our financial and economic state, got most of our troops out of Iraq, got same-love marriage legalized in several states by advocating for it and signing bills, and he also ended the war. I supported Romney and he should of won, he was very president-like, he was very smart, and he was relatively progressive on lots of issues. He could of fixed a lot of problems, but he kept saying the wrong things when the cameras weren't on him. Romney also wouldn't of been the greatest when it came to income equalities and helping the middle class and the poor rise above. What Obama has done didn't cause a world war, it's not even a war yet. Where were the right-wingers when Bush striked so many Arab countries without the American public's knowing? I don't know.

if people would stop following stupid loving religion in the first place, this wouldn't be happening

even if we helped Syria, most of them refuse to be educated, therefore they hold back the human race as a whole

there's literally no point to have all of the middle east around anyways

Seriously?
You Republitards pay too much attention to what you disagree with. He has tons of good for America, and I mean it. He stopped/is stopping two endless wars that had a HUGE impact on the deficit you guys complain about so much, Obamacare is actually good because not only does it benefit so many people with such little cost per person but it actually saves lives; 40,000 people died from poor to no avaliable healthcare. Obamacare gives a hand to the poor communities that are paying attention to not starving, and not healthcare.

Sadly, you people complained about Obama's plan for tax reform that he conformed to your whining and extended Bush tax cuts, which you think had NO IMPACT on the deficit (again, which you complain about so much.) Maybe if Republicans listened to Obama we would be in a better place.

Yet you whine about a conflict in Syria that has a limit to 90 days and no boots on the ground? How about the two ten year wars that were endless. Not only that but the governments in Iraq and Afghanistan are now severely unstable and abusive.

I really do not get you Republicans. Just keep living in your fantasy land.
