Why is the US being drug into this middle eastern stuff, bringing us into matters that the US does NOT need to be in, the US is in the second step to a economic DEPRESSION, Our contry needs to not worry about all the stuff in the middle east, but no loving obama sticks his nose into this stuff. Why the forget do you do this Obama, Just why.......

except syria

They have violated the Geneva Convention, which is basically essential rules of conduct, not to mention that what they've done is actually unbelievably inhumane.
There are no good options in Syria, and most others aren't going to deal with the problems there unless we intervene as well. If we ignore them, we're saying to the world "We no longer care if anyone violates the Geneva Convention. Go ahead, do it anytime."
I'm actually hoping that there will be a settlement that forces Syria to give up its chemical weapons, but if not, aggression is completely justified.

I don't trust Russia at all, and Putin is just a cute trick. Russia is very sneaky. I have a feeling that Russia wants them to hand over their chemical weapons so they can have it. It's possible that they won't actually have them destroyed.
Russia is kinda tentatively on good terms with Syria, and while they won't back them up big time, they'll try to find the best option for them.

Are you saying that we should intervene because they broke the rules? Or just throwing some facts out there? Because if you are suggesting that we bust a country for breaking the rules, then unfortunately the US is also a rule breaker. Water Boarding is also forbidden in the convention and the CIA was doing that in Guantanamo Bay for awhile. We also used Agent Orange as a chemical weapon in Vietnam with the intent of killing acres of crops and forests so that people move to the cities in the south.

I say just let the UN thrown sanctions at them and then use NATO to cut off weapon imports.

yes they will.

they already have half their navy waiting at syria for the US to attack. including nuclear launch subs.

Let's fix it (if we absolutely have to), in a way which won't break anything else for Syria's population and infrastructure.

We don't need to send any of our own soldiers there, to fight a war which isn't ours. There is already many sides fighting a bloody, agonizing war in Syria. They have been for quite a while now. Most've the sides are not even fighting for Syria. Most of them are sides completely alien to this war and it's reason. If there is any reason anymore.

We don't need any more foreign sides fighting a fight that is not theirs. The reality of this is that it is now a melting pot of everyone shooting at everybody. We wouldn't know for sure, because we don't know what really happens in the heat of this war. We don't get every second of it, and we barely know why this is happening, who is fighting, and how it will end. If it ever will.

which queries me to why we didn't think of intervening before like we are doing now, when twice as many atrocities have been committed, and are happening to this minute even despite the controversy of chemical weapons being used.

I understand why the use of chemical weapons against their own citizens - innocent or not, is enough to get everyone in a whirlwind. But we cannot respond in a way which will only damage this country further than it already has been.

Any word about war and syria?

I cant bring myself to feel bad for them because I know if the roles were reversed they would leave us to rot.
Maybe you're just one of those militaristic kids who similarly believes that all Arabian people are terrorists.
Either that, or you're a sociopath.

So I'm a little behind, has it been confirmed that they've used chemical weapons?  Or are the conspiracy theorists still convinced it's a "false flag."

I think that he had a point there, he didn't say anything which was Islamophobic. If we were in a similar situation, they would not do anything. It's the same with many other Middle-Eastern countries. America is generally not looked upon well in that part of the world, and statistics show that. I wish it wasn't like that though, but there isn't anything which can be done to improve the relations. We've already killed so many Arab civilians in the war a few years ago. It was disheartening.

According to Kerry, they were using chemical weapons.

The U.S. needs to learn to stay out of foreign wars, unless they're trying to crush the real terrorists.

It's not Obama's fault. The whole government is built upon the military-industrial complex. If a senator votes in favor of a war, they get paid by Lockheed-Martin or Raytheon or some other weapon manufacturing company. Then, the war starts, and the victim country gets angry. There is a lot of anger toward the United States. Then some terrorists from that country attack us, and all of a sudden the corrupt U.S. declares war on that country and the armament companies get even more money when they produce weapons for that war.
If this keeps happening, the U.S. is doomed within 50 years or so. We'll lag behind in education and infrastructure, since all this money is being spent on militarism. Other countries, such as those from Asia, will get ahead.

yes they will.

I thought they only sent like 5 ships

I'm pretty sure that they would not want to start a nuclear war.

This whole situation is disgusting.

Watching Republicans try to argue anti-war is hilarious though.
