I prefer sub based over microtransactions
Microtransaction-supported games tend to be extremely pay-to-win. I've seen a few that were only mildly pay-to-win, but I've never played one that wasn't pay-to-win at all.

I agree, but sadly I haven't found a sub game I actually liked. To be honest I can't find an MMORPG I actually care for yet. All of them feel so lacking in potential (essentially I like them, but they get dull very fast, I haven't found one that didn't have this effect on me)

I'm hoping one of these "next gen" MMOs actually get me to stick with it.

even $5 a month would be enough to keep their servers up

if there is the right amount of players, that is

I'm not entirely sure of that, I have no idea how much it'd cost to run a server, but you also have to realize they need to pay their workers, not to mention they've still got to be pumping out new content. Then they still have to make a profit, not break even.

what is your point exactly? that they should only charge enough to cover their costs?

that's pretty handicapped if you're saying that

The problem with subscription-based MMO's is that if you run out of your precious money and can't pay for the next month of the game, you simply stop playing.
You are basically paying 180 bucks or so for a year of playing this game, even though there's tons of games which you pay from 10 to 60 bucks and it's yours forever, and some of those games can be played for more than a year (Blockland for example).

But when you add a microtransaction store to the subscription-based model, it's an obvious sign of massive cashgrab. Dunno if that microtransaction store is confirmed tho.

I got a bad feeling this game sucks and is just going to feed off all the skyrim fanboys. Similar to what warz did with dayz (except this is under the same ip) if you really want a good non sub based mmo just get gw2. Its by far the best

no i'm not saying that

i just don't want to pay god damn $15/month

5$ a month for sure is enough to make a profit

Lol sounds a lot like a personal problem. Get a job or ask your parents to pay for it for like, a birthday or Christmas present.

Hold on let us get our job helmets on, jump in our job cannons, put our job belts on and throw ourselves into Jobland.

Um...I don't know too many parents that will just give someone $180 to pay for a game they just bought for a year every year lol.

I'm not sure what to say besides...okay? Because that statement or "tip" doesn't really seem to be directed towards anyone.

can we lock this considering it's as dead as the xbone?
