Author Topic: Swollow - Using my IP to track down my state, and town.  (Read 10349 times)

You honestly didn't think, then.

Having someone's IP is like knowing someone license plate, except he can change that license plate at anytime with no consequence.

I honestly didn't think he would have a tizzy fit over public information
sorry everyone.
alright problem solved

now can we all just get along?

i mean, he censored the information
so only a few people know about it

all you really have to do is to not do that again

I don't understand why people are so secretive of there info, I live at  Granite City, Illinois, 2454 Delmar. My full name is Gregory Lee Nienhaus Jr. If you come to my house I will let you punch me in the face for taking the useless loving effort to do it.

that's actually a very good connection

I don't understand why people are so secretive of there info,
yeah no
this is never a way to solve things

swollow did something chester disliked
he continued to do it

now what if someone who heard the ip decided to pay chester a "visit"

there is lots of sickos on the internet
anonymousity is important

here's a link to my "geolocation" by my IP (108.40.9.99)

this location is off by more than a few miles, i don't live in these neighborhoods at all.  IP addresses don't really give anything close to your house, at least not close enough that a person will find you and do anything horrible.

He shouldn't have to apologize just because he made some guy cry on the internet over nothing. No one is going to pay anyone a visit, that's not how IPs work, they don't exactly pin point your location. It's off by a very good amount of miles and most of the time the geolocation is at the HQ or whatever of the ISP itself and not the person.

Better unplug his computer from the internet to keep little chester here safe.

-snip-
he revealed his town
come on

there IS a chance that someone can find him
(albeit a very tiny chance)

Funny, I was just about to say that.
That's the fifth time you've done that Charles, you're on a role.

I was never intentionally trying to upset him, I apologized lets just drop it

... It's a town, it's not like there's only 2 residents or something. And there is absolutely no chance for anyone to find him, because it's a waste of time. What did he do anyway? Infiltrate the FBI network and get a hit-man on him?

OP has absolutely nothing to worry about.

It wasn't a troll, it was a joke. Jesus Christ man you're acting like if someone has your IP it's basically your death note or something.

i meant the argument worked for trolling as well, not that swollow was trolling.

It's a richard move and an invasion of privacy, but you are not in any real danger. You can't find someone's physical address with just their IP.
