Author Topic: Got the Ouya - Review  (Read 1594 times)

It is an amazing console. It's cheaper than trying to get an android tablet and the games are so indie... which makes the game's even so slightly amazing.

This is a picture of the Ouya, An amazing Microconsole. It's a compact cube, don't even need a plug to make the controller work.

The controller is a little problem though, it takes like 3-5 minutes to get it connected to the system and the shoulder buttons are some-times un-responsive. Other than all of that, a great console. I'd recommend buying it if you don't need so many games though, there are only 300. And if you're not much of a console player.

If I see a console like in the picture I'd stuff my pants!

My first problem with the OP. You wanna know what's more amazing then most indie games I've ever seen? Dishonored.

no, that's a blank spot.

Little problem? That's actually pretty major. The controllers may actually be worse then Atari 5200 controllers.

It's a relatively new console. There shouldn't be 20k loving games yet.

so it's pretty much a console exclusively for Indie games

yeah that'll sell a lot

Well, indie games good or bad seem to be very popular lately.

I'm not the console gamer type of guy, but I do love indies. The Ouya is pretty affordable as well. I might consider getting it. I wish the controller was original though, it looks too much like a spin-off of the XBox/Playstation controllers.

This got terrible reviews from like everybody.

I'm not certain, but I believe those are games off the android market that were meant mostly for the phone.

Original isn't always good. They're using a format that gamers are most familiar with, so transitioning to the new console is easier.

Would you prefer a controller to look and feel like these:
or this:

ouya controller blows. xbox and ps3 controllers are probably 5/10.

ouya is stuffty as forget :I
would rather pay up for the the shield

Yeah.. no. It still only plays android games on it's own, and the only way be able to do that steaming thing with little to no lag (only no lag if you connected directly to the computer, and if you're doing that you might as well just play your computer), is if you are near your computer. It's pointless if you ask me.

As for the Ouya, it only plays android games, which is stupid. I'm not getting one.

the ouya is a bit forgeted now that both next-gen consoles seem to support self-publishing, and will likely hit a bigger market.
