Author Topic: iphone 5s utilizes fingerprint scanning  (Read 6459 times)

I got the iPhone 4S a while back, and since then I've had nothing but good experiences. Don't see myself getting a 5S or 5C, but perhaps in the future I will sell my old phone to upgrade. All I know is if things continue to stagnate in the mobile phone industry, I'll stick to what I'm comfortable with.
i wish i could say the same
i purchased multiple apple products over the past four years and it's been nothing but one screw up to another.
from cracked screens to faulty chargers i went from being the average consumer to having a deep dark hatred for apples company, they've just completely failed to meet up to my expectations and now i'm watching them release bullstuff like this and suck up more cash from their fans who haven't bothered to research other types of phones because they don't even consider there being a type of phone better.
i guess the main influence on me having such a strong opinion on this is that my mother is exactly this person and i can't convince her otherwise; she continues to believe the ipad mini is an excellent choice over the nexus 7 and it juST ISN'T TRUE UGH
this is a serious peeve of mine, what else can i say.

You can say that you had a poor experience with Apple. Congratulations. I've personally only had 1 bad experience with Apple, ever. I've never had a cracked phone (except once when my mom accidentally threw it down a staircase onto tile, which would break any phone [at least it still worked]), the only phone defect I ever had (a broken sleep button) was replaced even though I didn't pay for warranty, and from a developer standpoint I'd much rather work with C than Java. Every other product I've had by them has worked better than described, I have a first-generation iPhone that boots up just fine, a first-generation Apple TV that I use frequently despite there being multiple new iterations, etc. In my opinion, Apple products are more refined than Android-based competitor products. Everything feels like it's supposed to fit together, a sensation of unity I didn't experience with my Android phone. As I said earlier, there's no accounting for taste so regardless of actual hardware:price ratio, I prefer the Apple product. You prefer the Android product. Whichever is 'better' hinges on what we value.

i've always used apple

this feature looks pretty cool, dont see many uses in it though

iOS7 looks soo gorgeous to me. I love minimalistic style like windows 8

considering the last update was how long ago and now all this update adds is a cheaper model and nothing but a fingerprint scanner, yeah i'll join in this round about how they're a waste.
wtf is this these are some ugly UIs
It's a minor revision, you're not meant to get every single one.

honest to god if there was a stuffload of new features that were worthwhile i would honestly be praising it.  just a fingerprint scanner and no mention of quad core processing?  lame.
Quad core is pretty much a gimmick in phones at the moment.  I doubt many programmers use those features or even need them unless it's a complex 3D game.  People are way too critical of Apple not being ridiculous.  You don't need a 1080p display when it's 4 inches, and because you aren't rendering in 1080p, you don't need to use as many resources, thus you don't need the crazy processor.

am I the only one who thinks the idea for the 5c is pants on head handicapped

What, provide people with the same phone for $100 cheaper, and with color variety that isn't greyscale? Nah, sounds stupid to me.

iPhones are nice but Android phones allow for much more customization with the Android OS and also the different kinds of phones you can choose from.

Hey guys, Apple is still part of prism, This means they get your fingerprints now too.

If I wanted to overhaul and deck out my UI I would use a computer. I don't need my phone to be convoluted, it just needs to look nice n' clean and streamlined, just the way it is. It'll be even better with iOS7.

iPhone5s, helping you against your friends messing with your phone!

the fingerprint scanner is meant for security. i don't understand how it's a gimmick at all.

plus the CPU architecture makes me want to take a look at it more

except, according to apple during the keynote, fingerprints are never stored online in any way.

so, you know how phones aren't laptops?
