Hey, guys. I'm just a no-name Blocklander that likes to design interfaces and things.

Since Blockland is going to make its way onto Steam soon, I think that Blockland's look in general should get a rehash, because: let's face it, black Impact is waaay too overdone. Plus, that loading screen. Eugh. Anyways, since being the design nerd I am, I have already made a few concepts of what Blockland COULD look like in the forseeable future! And you guys could help/contribute too, with some constructive criticism and maybe even send in some designs, too! This is just kind of a stupid idea I have, so here goes nothing!

NOTICE: ALL CONCEPTS ARE NOT FINAL AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Facts with all the concepts so far:
-Top and bottom of GUI window colors, button colors, and loading screen colors will be changed via options menu
-Main fonts being used are Open Sans and Segoe UI (at the moment)
-We're currently aiming for a more blocky, Metro-y look

Loading Screen Concept: (whoops, uploaded the wrong version :P)

Friends list/chat concept:

Title screen concept:

Pause screen concept:

New logo concept(?):

Thanks a bunch, guys! Can't wait to hear what you think!

Loading looks good, the server list looks bland and a bit childish, but it's a step up from ugly. I think instead of blue, it should be gray.

Looks good.  I think a nice, dark gray would look really nice.  If possible, maybe allow users to use the RGB sliders to pick that.

It looks fantastic, though!

Good idea.
Also, use Ubuntu (the font) please :D

Good idea! Should I replace Nexa, Segoe UI, or both with Ubuntu? :P

the loading screen is really cool and would really fit
the server list should stay the way it is but with a server preview on the side and other convenient things like a built-in search

SC

I didn't get the Ubuntu font or make the preview pane yet but here's a (slightly) improved server window

That is so hot.

But, unfortunately Badspot doesn't really listen to suggestions. He's also awful at UI.

OPEN SANS LIGHT FOR UI 2013

Oh my god this would be so cool.

What if someone coded it and gave Badspot the file?

That would be amazing. That certainly wouldn't be the first time that has happened, y'know. ;)

Welp, since I'm not in the mood for today, I'm gonna have to work on the GUIs through the week. I'll make sure to post more o' these and hopefully get these into Blockland! :)

(and yes I am the guy that made that minecraft concept picture)

The GUI's look great, but if the server joining GUI is updated, we might as well update almost all of the GUI's.

Indeed, man! That's what I was thinking! Oh, that reminds me, I have an idea for two separate GUIs: one for normal building servers, and one for servers that rely heavily on tools/weapons (where the weapons slot would be bigger and on the bottom + health bar, maybe?)

But yeah, that's why (I think) this is called a project, y'know.

Once you update one GUI's visual elements, they all update. The GUI system pulls from the same set of images universally.

I absolutely love it (minus that brick background in the loading GUI).

Have you created these using the GUI editor or image editing?
