Do Violent Video Games actually make people Violent?

Violent games only cause violent behavior in insane (mentally unstable) people, and video games don't make you insane.

Honestly, if that thought is flawed. By that process, if they, for example, saw a cooking show, or a farming show first, they would farm or cook for the rest of their lives. Problem solved.

What you need in the first place is a person that's been put down, bullied, and humiliated several times through their life, eventually turning giving them deep seeded hatred towards people in general. This will eventually deepen and evolve to open aggression, at which point, just about anything could set them off. Even just holding a weapon. A violent video game could be the release, but it is by far, not the main release.

I have no moral standards toward someone who tries to harm me or my family. Occasionally I day.dream about torture on someone who has/would attempt to hurt me or my family if I cannot physically interact with them.

The only people that videogames make violent are those stupid enough to not separate fiction from reality and have a history of violence in the first place.

I think it's completely the opposite. People become less violent, because they can rage and slaughter all they want in the video games.

This is dead wrong. A lot of the time they won't, but there are numerous times where they do. In fact I know a lot more addicts who know they have a problem than addicts who don't, it's just difficult to stop

Addiction is mentally unhealthy, yes, but to blame video games for addiction and because of that, blame them for bad mental health, is silly. If parents allow their kids to play video games for too long at a young age then they're already proven to be bad parents. It's probably not the only aspect in which they aren't up to par and you can probably safely assume that there are other factors leading to bad mental health for video game addicted kids.

Also, violent people like violent video games, that's a pretty safe assumption to make. Why wouldn't they? But that doesn't mean that the video games cause violence. Correlation =/= cause
