Not been revealed yet.

Probably the design of the console.
There's no such thing as the "Design of the console" as multiple manufacturers will make different consoles that work on SteamOS.

damn that could get competitive lol.

like the fight is no longer about if the xbox is better then the playstation. but hands down pc games already win; and the new debate is what who sells the best steamOS box with the best hardware features.

Not to mention one of the "consoles" is already known; known as Piston.

The piston sucks ass. It costs 999 bucks even though you could get a better machine with half the price.

If the steam machines are going to be made out of regular computer parts I'm going to guess it will be micro atx, or smaller, sided motherboards and cases.

i want mine made out of coookies

I wonder if the SteamOS can make documents and stuff.

...What else would they be made out of? It seems like it's just a computer with the steam OS in it.

Almost certainly considering Linux can do that, and if it couldn't, someone could modify it to create word documents and everything.

Edit: Chances are, if you know how to build a computer, you wont be purchasing a Steam Machine since it'll just be a prebuilt computer, which you can just go out and buy the parts to and likely have it cheaper.

But steamos is going to be completely free, so now you won't have to buy windows and can still play all your steam games!

Be the smart one, ignore Pandan and quit this whole argument. You can't argue with someone who has an ass for a brain. Getting into a conclusion will take forever.
im offended

Now I will never have to use that horrible OS known as windows again once steamOS comes out.

But that doesn't void my point, I can just custom build a computer and install the OS, but yea, that's a great perk, I can't wait to try it out.

the point of the steam-boxes, whoever all will make them, is that they should be affordable versions of gaming computers.

if its more then 400 bucks, its already almost easier to get a real pc lol
