I enjoy rap and EDM mostly. I respect people's opinions of my musical tastes/theirs, but I find it pretty ridiculous when people stuff on it just because of stereotypes, because they're tribal, or because they "have no idea what people see in it".

I can do the same with any genre, allow me:

Metal is just a bunch of long haired freaks banging their heads up and down
Screamo is just a bunch of skinny jean emo cigarettes complaining about breakups
EDM is just a bunch of drugees listening to repetitive beats with lasers and strobes
Rap is just about black people talking about pusillanimous individual, money, and weed
Country is just about trucks, alcoholism, and heartbreak

Need I go on? I'm always open to every genre. It doesn't mean I listen to it in my car per say, but I'm not ignorant to the fact that music is universal and apart of our culture.
