Yeah talking online is not the way to go when something like this happens. People need to go and be sociable and get support from real people. But honestly when something like this hits, it's MUCH easier to just go online and talk on a social website than to go tell actual people about it. It's a bad habit, but that doesn't make it an impossibility

And he never said that he was typing out the news the minute he got it. Everything he said was described to have happened recently, not necessarily just then.

This is the only thing that would strike me as silly and it's wrong. Most people don't instantly know how to contact the police in other countries, especially when they don't know the address of the situation. What was he supposed to do??
