Author Topic: Is Blockland the only game that uses the "ID" system?  (Read 3157 times)

I always wonder if Blockland is the only game that uses the ID feature.

definitely not, but idk if it's as common for the ID to be as 'promoted' as it is with BL

I've not played every game ever made so I can't be 100% sure.

But no, Certainly not. I'd assume every game sets a member to a number for easier sorting.

Doesn't Roblox do this?
you must be thinking about the guest feature

lol what gave you this idea
When you view someones profile at the end of the url it says ID=(numbers)

but in blockland IDs are more of a big deal
idk that doesn't sound right but i dunno how else to word it

like, a lot of games have some sort of number ID assigned to players but it's usually just a long string of numbers and letters that don't really matter but in blockland you can see everyone's IDs and they're used in events sometimes and they're just more significant i guess?

does blockland and its community just ever seem way different then like every other online game to you guys or is it just me
i mean i dont play online games much and have never really used any other forums but still

well, theres facepunch....

Any sort of online game is going to have a database with a table of characters/players/accounts, the table's primary key could be considered an ID.
It's just that I've never seen another game with as much of a front-end emphasis on them

I am pretty sure that 99.9% "IDs" are randomly generated identification keys and there's no constant increment like Blockland's.
The only other game that I know that uses IDs based on register increment is Torn City.

I don't know, but sure feels different.

If internet was earth, Blockland Forums is like an uncharted island.

this as well

i don't know of any other game that uses IDs that aren't random long strings of numbers and letters and also has IDs that are easily visible and important/significant
