Wtf? First, the shutdown already started. Second, no. All laws are still enforced, military is standing, etc.

Why don't we stop blaming the Republicans 100% for a minute and ask- why couldn't the Democrats deal with Obamacare not being funded later and just let that slide for now? I doubt it was worth a government shutdown
Give them an inch and they'll want a mile. If you let the hicks in the House walk over you this time they're going to do it again and again. If we slip and give into them holding us ransom now they'll likely do the exact same thing when the time comes to discuss raising the debt ceiling a month or two from now.

Delay, delay, delay. They're just throwing a tantrum over a bill that's been law for some time now because they can hold the American people hostage over it.

I don't think they're holding the American people hostage, I think that's you guys being speculative starfishs on the situation. They were unable to shut down the law in the first place, so they're trying to stop it by killing funding. That doesn't mean their intent is to keep the government shut down, that's just a byproduct of them refusing to send up a bill with funding for Obamacare. Honestly, I feel like it'd be the democrats keeping the American people hostage. The Republicans are at least sending budgets over, they're just saying "no."

That's kind of how it seems to me. But honestly, both sides are just saying "You blink first" here. They're both to blame.
And this is where we see what Washington was talking about when he said that political parties had "baneful effects."

wait forget it nvm -edited-
don't worry i wasn't raging
