Any base car that can't top 150 (ignoring the limiter) is not a fast car. The only car I can think of that is slow yet still meets my definition of sports car is the Toyota 86.

Point being, Mustangs are not fast cars. 2014 Mustang GTs are fast cars. Mustang Cobras are fast cars.
I agree with this.

However you have to remember that top speed isn't the only thing that determines how good a car is to drive.  Cars like the Mazda MX-5 can't top 150 iirc but they are still a blast to drive on the right track.

imo you don't buy american muscle cars for any reason other than to look really cool without being super expensive

For most people at least.

I know a few guys who have American muscle cars that actually have their horsepower utilized instead of them just trying to look cool.

I don't understand muscle cars. Like, sure, a Camaro SS will beat my 370z in a straight line any day of the week. But the second that pavement starts to curve, I'd catch up and crush it. I once rallied with a Camaro SS, a 300zx, an M3, and a 335i and the Camaro SS was passed by every car behind it and ended up losing us and getting lost and driving home. So much for having the most powerful car in the group.

That's the spirit of the muscle car.  Fast in a straight line and stuff in the corners.  Thats why they are so cheap.

I wish soooo bad I could go to the STL Auto Show.  I can't freaking drive by myself though (STILL NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE MY TEST!!!) and I didn't get to go last year because of rampant flu (Mom wouldn't let me go cause I might get sick).  I still have not seen a '14 Corvette up close and that's the main reason.

I'll be hitting up the Chicago auto show in 2 weeks

I wish I could have gone, but I was at our robotics shop both Saturday and Sunday. I also saw the '14 corvette's rear a week ago, it was pretty sick looking.

Only one I've seen was sitting outside a service garage at Bommarito Chevrolet on Lindbergh.

better than nothing. :P

A friend of mine went today (XR, you remember Sam from the shop?) and got a scion keyring/chain thingy. I should ask if he took any pictures.

They are getting better, Ford actually says the 2015 Mustang GT will be an M3 fighter iirc.

Yah, they're finally ditching solid rear axle. Took em long enough.
