Am I the only person who wants a hearse to drive around in?

Turbocharging is difficult on a carbureted engine.  Also you might not need a rebuild.  Probably just a head gasket.  Isn't your car an El Camino?

well i am good with holleys and i have read about blowthrough but i figure there is more to it. not head gasket, think its piston rings. might as well rebuild whole thing. yes 1977

well you'll definitely find out if its a head gasket or not when you rebuild it.  Also if you decide to turbo it you might want to think about new heads, or getting the stock ones reworked.  You don't want all that boost pressure being held back by some extra iron left over from the casting process.  Also depending on how much boost you want to run you'll probably need new head studs and maybe even a drop in compression ratio.  Turbocharging is finicky but i trust you do your research.

Honestly if I were you I'd find a gen III 5.3 or 6.0 and drop in there.  More powerful, better fuel economy, probably not much price difference.

i just want that badass turbo whistle and power lol. i wish i could get my hands on an LS train. so bad.

pull one out of a Chevy pickup truck or a Tahoe.  Not too expensive.

running and driving they are. I am in the market, they're just expensive lol. Every now and then I will miss a good price on a wrecked one

I'm not saying find one that runs and drives.  I'm just saying find a wrecked one or one that is being parted out that has the engine, trans, wiring harness and ECM still intact.

Well, I may be buying a new car. Not sure what to go for though, all I want out of a car is to carry friends or other things, and at least DECENT gas mileage. Being sporty is an option.

Price range?

E type's are fun to ride in. :P

Took pictures of the worst rusty area of the car today. Now I don't think I can fix it.

No idea why that little hole is there or whose bright idea it was to drill it. I saw a Buick Century in Michigan and another white LeSabre across the street from my grandparents' house with rust in the exact same spot...caused presumably from brine kicked up by the tires funneling through the hole into the cavity and then oozing from under the lid onto the fender.

So it appears that i would indeed have to completely replace the fender, and if so, block that handicapped hole so salt, dirt, and water don't get kicked into the gas cavity.
