iirc you lose power if your exhaust diameter is too wide b/c some back pressure actually helps

basically gaining noise and looks(?) at the loss of power. technically rice

These are really cool

I just love the looks of 70's "future" concept cars

ooo whats the bottom one

Top is the Ferrari Modulo, and the bottom is the HF Zero.

That bottom one has a Stratos logo though. It looks like it is likely a Lancia Stratos concept car.

Edit: I was right. I was also just informed of that 2010 Lancia New Stratos concept, which looks pretty cool but only one exists.

Ferrari F430 platform with design by Pininfarina. Would not mind driving.

i love the track/kit-car look of it, party in the front, business in the back

another 70's concept

the DOME ZERO

look at the size of that windshield wiper!

cassette player, geometrical shift knob, fancy steering wheel, unnecessary glass on the doors, and pop up headlights the size of a cargo ship, amazing digital dashboard

in what world is this big of an exhaust needed

its a diesel, likely a also has a tuned computer, EGR delete, straight piped, the lot.  In that case a large exhaust is actually better.  They say the minimum pipe diameter if you want to run a mildly hopped up diesel is 4 inches.

or they just want to blow a stuff-ton of black smoke out the exhaust.

Alright greasemonkies, I'm a nerd with an interest in engineering. Does anybody know of any good cheap/free (less than $100) dyno programs/software?

These are really cool

That thing is a literal deathtrap. One word: lift. If you hit a bump of any kind in that car going fast, the car would generate actual lift like a goddamn loving airplane and flip upside down and kill you. Jesus christ who thought that was a good idea?

i think they're still cool pieces of art and would make nice novelty town cruisers or something if anything else
