I believe loud mufflers are a must actually. Considering motorcycle horns are barely loud enough to be heard from inside a car.
You honk at someone and they might hear you and then they'll get pissy even if they're in the wrong.
Revv super loud and they'll forget off.

my dad says a lot of people somehow manage to not notice that motorcycles exist while driving

Exactly, if you've ever been pulled over by a moto cop, they'll brag about how they followed you for two miles. It's because cop cycles sound like loving electric scooters.
A quiet biker goes unnoticed. Which can be pretty bad.

especially in missouri where everybody is half asleep all the time, and you've also gotta deal with all the stuffty kansas drivers at the same time like holy stuff if you see a stuffty driver in missouri take a look at the plate and 9 times out of 10 it's gonna be from loving kansas

Our bikers, not only are they suppressed, the starfishs drive without their lights on during the day and night so you can't really see them until it's too late. Then, no matter what happens, it's always your fault if you're in a bigger vehicle and the biker gets hurt. Lastly, they don't have license plates at the front and many don't have them at the rear or do illegal modifications to have it unreadable so you can't really report them.

I despise motorcycles due to the above. Please tell me it isn't like this everywhere.

u are correct. revving is the best way to make yourself get noticed. its used for a lot of communication

So in the past few days, I've been using my Galaxy S5 as a dash camera in my car by fixing it to a windshield mount. I used it to follow storms around last Wednesday so I've been working on uploading them.

Since my radio is playing in the background, my video apparently can't be viewed in Germany due to a copyright claim.

Edit: I just finished annotating another much longer video, but it has less wet weather in it.
