Author Topic: Another reason Badspot removed maps?  (Read 8967 times)

This is my first topic. Made on a iPhone.

I thought of something when I was watching "old" "good-bye maps."
The though is: Badspot might not have only moved maps for environment and shaders, he may also have moved them because he wanted to see what creative builds people can make. Like another Afghanistan or something. More brick built maps. People used to just load a GSF_ghost map for almost everything.

Talking about maps, before V21 came out, half the people used adjustable slate. We practically have that, just a better one.

Think of this.
Soak it in.

Also anyone know Arduino?

I am very glad that update came, even though I didn't have shaders when the update first was released; it made me become a more productive builder.

Because of the update, I stopped wandering pre-generated terrain and actually began to really peak in my ability to build.

I think the update was the best step for a game where "You build stuff."

I actually agree with y'all. Terrains made us lazy... Without them, we are forced to make this stuff! I appreciate the fact that I have explored new things that I would not have built pre v.21

I've gotten so much better at building ever since they were removed

i never improved because i always built on slate :cookieMonster:

Yeah, me and a friend built a lot of things on slate, so we were loaded for V21.

but the creativity went with the maps

Not technically. If you are a person who really wants maps back, you must not be a good builder or creative. Ad most people who host RPs want to start as soon as they build, I dunno let's say a house. But other things, like take TheBrighterDarks's SCP server. (Sponsor!) he really spent time on that to make it look good. It's a freaking map. If you do make these kinds of things, what are you saying? °Д°

god those ghost maps were all so loving ugly.

ugh

V21 made my building skills alot better therefore I find it better than V20. Although I kinda miss terrains. But it made me less active at building. I'm happy Badspot thought of the idea of Shaders.

What was really cool, in blockland V0002 had mission editor built in it, making maps easier.

It didn't improve my building skills. I almost always built on Slate, although when I actually wanted to host I would sometimes use a map. Either way, my building is still as god-awful as ever.

He said that terrain is old outdated crap

I only wanted terrain because of the dog fights or the team deathmatches that had islands. god wizards dogfight.
