Some of them forget you over before you can even get the chance to boot into safe mode, so yeah.
Even if that was true the virus can still be removed.

most PCs have a second harddrive that is read-only and houses a clean, factory version of your PC

is it really so hard for people to run a system restore?

Or you can just remove the virus?
he claimed it locked it down

Hirens boot cd mini xp anti virus features can, but if you're too lazy then reinstall

I wonder if putting the main hard drive of the infected PC into another PC, and deleting windows on purpose, clearing the registry and reinstalling windows would get rid of the virus.

all the non computer savvy people here thinking that there even exist, viruses that can't be stopped and cleaned off Lol.
what about the one that encrypts all your files and tells you you need to pay lods of emone to get the key

Would it be illegal to trace the creator of the fake FBI malware and DDoS them?

I got this one time on one of my old computers. I got a new computer.

I think reinstalling everything requires more effort

Would it be illegal to trace the creator of the fake FBI malware and DDoS them?

Only if you're caught.
That's a yes.

This sort of thing happened to my uncle's computer. I fixed it by doing a factory restore

Would it be illegal to trace the creator of the fake FBI malware and DDoS them?

Yes, but I doubt they would do anything.

"Help, someone DDoS'd my website!"
"What websight is that sir? May I see it?"
"Uuuuuh..."

My cousin had this on her computer after she clicked an ad. this is kind of what I did to fix it:
Start in Safe Mode with Command Prompt
C:\WINDOWS> explorer
Install avast! or Malwarebytes downloaded by another computer
Run scan
????
Profit
(malwarebytes in this case) then a bunch of scans with avira and mbam

I got a similar one. It was on chrome and it wouldnt let me shut down but I used task manager to force it to, then it never came back again. ;)
