had a school shooting dream and another dream with e.t. which was completely horrifying, but nothing really bad.
when i was 6-9 though i would die a lot in my dreams, every time waking up right after i did, either by a monster or jumping like 100 feet high down some stairs.

Yeah, you can't actually read anything in a dream. If you ever have a lucid dream, try reading the cover of a book or a street sign. You can't do it.

From what I know, you must be aware that you are dreaming and say to yourself, "I will lucid dream" alot of times before you fall asleep. That may help because you'll be commanding your brain to Lucid dream.

And have you read the Lucid Dreaming thread?

Also if that does not help, read what Blockzillahead did to Lucid Dream.

If all of those fail, google some instructions.
