I'm a GIMP fan, personally.

Yeah, since photoshop is too expencive for me to buy, I just use GIMP too!

I have this CS5 Photoshop trial on disk that came with some Photoshopping book that my dad found in an empty apartment. I didn't really like it.

I use photoshop (and sai) for art not photos

I wish I had photoshop, too bad it costs like $700
Nvm.

Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate!

I decided to make a quick logo of a game company with GIMP using a quick image merge using an image of the word drop (styled DrOp with the O in green) in a font called "Glitch" and an image of a green arrow. It's similar style to Bungie's logo.

Way too busy for my taste, it's hard to read. There's too much going on with the font. I would have personally put the arrow in the letter p rather than o.

I agree with Demian about the arrow, but I think it's find otherwise. Maybe add a soft background with harsh edges?

Yeah. I personally like Gaussian Blur on a background layer for a finishing touch, usually in a color complimentary to the text.

It has potential but like everyone else said clean it up a bit and put the arrow on the P.

I'm almost done with my next set of Photoshops, I've been extremely busy with life. I went to the Bay Area and got an exclusive tour of Pixar on Tuesday. I know for sure I want to work there. I'm going to be taking some artsy college classes and then apply for an internship. The lady on the tour told me there are about 100 intern positions a year and 10,000 people apply each year. With that having been said she followed up with what I'd need to do to increase my chances of getting picked.
