The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game.

You will make a choice that does not matter

You will follow a story that has no end

You will play a game you cannot win

...it's actually best if you don't know anything about it before you play it :D

Thinking of buying
Worth it? I don't want to watch nerd3's vid until I decide

i dont think its worth its current price but its still a good experience, even better if you know nothing about it before playing, like antichamber

i enjoy eight, eight is enjoyable
i do not enjoy eight, eight is not enjoyable

I thought it was neat that the developers made a demo exclusive to Ross and Danny for Steam Train.

Why is everyone on the Steam Train hate bandwagon? I like Steam Train.
In fact, I'm watching their series on Space Quest right now.

It's probably because people think Steam Train is pointless and overshadowing Game Grumps, or just because people dislike Danny for "replacing" JonTron.

play the demo if you're on the fence, it's completely different from the real game.

Played it.
Got all endings i think.

Get it if you liked what you've seen/experienced from the first one as this is practically an improved/expanded version of it.
I would personally advise to wait for it to be on a better sale then 20% off (right now).
The game isn't that much so really, if you doubt, wait until sales.

Do love one ending though, the one with the games.
Also 8.

Haha, totally. :P

about how many hours of gameplay did you guys get off this game?
$12 is a pretty steep price for me at the moment, i was prepared to pay $10 but i've recently exhausted myself and i'm not sure it's worth it.

Oh god what do I do when I turn on the machine at the end of the proper path?

spoilers:
i just played through and got an amazing series of the narrator restarting the game five or six times and all this wonderful stuff happened about an adventure line

and then in a room where we're waiting together, discussing the philosophy of the end of the game in a room that had pre-explained the narrators decisions and a timer had been telling us how long we'd been playing the confusion story, suddenly two loud beeps played, the game restarted, and it's all the same again. i thought that it might have actually transitioned into the real game, whatever that might be, but no, it just totally crushed my hopes and dreams. what happened ;-;
